Young Lawyer & Student Conference 2018 National
Let justice roll...lessons from Amos on justice, righteousness and mercy.
"For a lawyer who loves God and wants to grow and be challenged in their vocation, I can think of no better place to be than the LCF conference!"
We welcome all young lawyers and law students in the UK to join us for a great weekend at Whitemoor Lakes (near Lichfield). Click here to see a flyer.
How does justice, righteousness and mercy flow from our lives as we intentionally live for Christ in the legal profession?
The rich benefit from and take advantage of the poor, injustice is rife whilst the
government and religious elite look on. The worship of the faithful is empty and
the cult of self-satisfaction prevalent. Many live their life without a thought for
what God desires let alone obedience to him – and that includes those who say
they are religious.
Ironically this was the environment into which some of the greatest prophets
spoke into the life of Israel over half a century before Christ. Amos was one of
those prophets. He spoke of God's judgement, reinforcing the message that
our worship cannot be disconnected from how we live our life on a daily basis.
God won't let evil triumph over His good creation. He demands justice and
righteousness from His people and He also spoke of mercy. All should flow from
and be seen in our lives as we intentionally live for Him in our profession in the
light of Christ.
Matthew Price (former solicitor and curate at St Nicholas' Bradwell) will be our guest speaker helping us journey through this key part of God's word and thinking through how we apply it to our lives as Christians in the law.
There will also be topcial seminars on specific subjects for young lawyers.
The deadline for bookings is COB 01 February 2018.
