Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:15-16 (ESV)

As a Fellowship we are the sum of our parts, and our ministry and mission are the expressions of the whole.

In our 2023/24 Annual Report we highlighted many exciting initiatives from the past year. 'Initiative' is a 1-day annual conference for members to lead in the strategic development of 5 key initiatives during 2025:

  • John's Gospel for lawyers

John's Gospel involves Jesus on trial. With legal language, court room scenes, and examination of the evidence about Jesus Christ it speaks in clear terms to lawyers. Learning lessons from the effectiveness of UCCF's Uncover and the Word One to One we'd love to develop a new resource for Christian lawyers and law students to share their faith with those they work with.

  • New resources for Christian lawyers

During our long history our members have invested in the production of resources for lawyers and law students – books, articles, audio, video, and our popular online library. In the last year we have published two new books which have a UK-wide and global reach. We want to build on this legacy to develop new resources to meet current and future needs.

  • Regional hubs that make an impact

Our regional hubs are key to the ministry and mission of the LCF, meeting for prayer for local needs, providing support to members where they are located, and seeking to reach lawyers with the good news about Jesus Christ. In the last years student members have started new regional groups to pray, hear from local practitioners, and to study law and justice themes. Our aim is to start regional groups in areas where we are not meeting, to support the growth of groups that are established, and to build a network of volunteer teams with support from central resources.

  • An elevated Find a Lawyer scheme

For more than a decade our Find a Lawyer scheme has provided an important public benefit connecting those looking for a Christian lawyer with our members. Almost 500 people a year used this service in 2023/24, in which more than 200 LCF members participate, but we recognise that improvements could be made to improve user experience, expand its benefits, and to make this a more dynamic and effective service.

  • International ministries with added reach

The LCF has been a support and inspiration for many such groups around the world, and for more than 20 years our Fellowship has worked with international partners in justice mission, and to resource and encourage Christian lawyers around the world. Many of them are isolated, and the jurisdictions in which they work can be truly difficult. Now is the time to take stock about how the Lord has led and is leading us in our international ministries, to effectively direct the resources of our fellowship.

At 'Initiative' working groups will focus on the development of a single initiative. Each group will be given a catalyst pack of resources beforehand to examine during the conference with the help of leaders in the field. The groups will then provide feedback to the conference about the proposed development of their initiative.

These initiatives are potentially transformative, but we need your help to give them wings and make them fly. Please join us at this exciting junction in LCF history to invest your talents and experiences in the outworking of our love for Jesus in the legal world. The day conference includes worship, Bible teaching, prayer, discussion groups, and fellowship.
