Tue 14 Dec
International SYL Book Club
What is the point of my work as a lawyer? Is the legal profession just a means to the end of earning money and enjoying life or is there a wider purpose for my work? Does God really care about the way I study or practice law?
In partnership with other organizations (see below) from Africa and Latin America, LCF are organizing an international book club for law students and young lawyers (SYL). We will study the highly regarded "Every Good Endeavor" by Tim Keller. The book club will be online, free of charge, and we will gather monthly to discuss each chapter.
Tuesdays, monthly at 5.30pm (London time) for 1 hour. Once you register, you will receive the Zoom details for all sessions.
The opportunity to assemble people from different countries to discuss the book, share experiences and applications in the various contexts will hopefully be fruitful for all participants.
Book club dates:
14th December – The Dignity of Work & Work as Cultivation
18th January – Work as Service
22nd February – Work Becomes Fruitless & Work Becomes Pointless
29th March – Work Becomes Selfish
26th April – Work Reveals our Idols
31st May – A New Story for Work
21st June – A New Conception of Work
26th July – A New Compass for Work & New Power for Work
If you cannot attend a session, don't worry. Drop us a line to let us know. And pick up the conversation at the next meeting.
