UGANDA
"Many NGOs offer legal advocacy but UCLF are the only ones actually doing legal advocacy"
In Uganda, prisoners have no automatic right to a lawyer. Following years of conflict there are many land and successsion disputes - in a country where owning a piece of land is vital to your survival, the weakest and most vulnerable are often dispossessed of their property.
In the midst of this, the Ugandan Christian Lawyers Fraternity are seeking change. They offer legal education and support for those most in need and are known within the NGO community for their sincerity, commitment and passion to seek justice and advocate on behalf of the poor.
