Lewis Weaver, law student (London)

Aged 23 and awaiting the start of my Training Contract in six months, I have had the joy of study-ing both the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP Law School.

Despite starting the GDL in 2013, it was not until late 2014 that I was first introduced to the work of the LCF, through a Christian friend at BPP.

The LCF team have helped me explore and understand my faith in Jesus Christ more. Between fort-nightly student group meetings and monthly prayer breakfasts I have begun to question whether I have been prioritising what is truly important in life.

The prayer breakfasts are a great opportunity to meet other Christians in the legal profession, learn from them and rack their brains over common issues.

It was through one such LCF prayer breakfast that I met a practising lawyer, Trevor, who kindly offered an opportunity to read the Bible together, one-to-one. We now meet together on a fortnight-ly basis. Being able to read together has been invaluable to my understanding of the Bible and the difficulties I may face in the legal workplace. Having the opportunity to explore the Bible with another lawyer enables you to frame the lessons the Bible teaches us and specifically take it into the legal world.

I will forever be indebted to Fiona and the LCF.
