'Simeon took [Jesus] in his arms and praised God, saying: "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel."'

Luke 2:28-32 (NIV)

Bigger news than was first thought possible

Simeon had a vision of who Jesus was which was even news to Mary and Joseph. Simeon saw that Jesus was the salvation for all nations, that His mission and significance reached beyond Israel, and that the truth about Jesus would be revealed to the Gentiles.

May we discover more of the wonder of who Jesus is and what Jesus has done and may we be open to sharing the gospel even in the most surprising places and to the most unlikely people.

Prayer Points

1. Ask God to lead and direct you to share the gospel with those you meet and to be open to do so in even the most surprising of places.
2. For your fellow LCF members – that whatever their circumstances they may be able to praise God and give him the glory.
