Steadfast in the storms

Week beginning: 9th September, 2018 | By John Scriven | Bath

He will have no fear of evil tidings.
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

Psalm 112:7 (NKJV)

You could be waiting for a medical diagnosis for a loved one or for yourself. Or you might be anticipating the outcome of a serious issue at work which could affect your career. Understandably you are very worried. The storms of life take myriad forms, seeming to engulf us, and the greatest storm of all is death.

But, whatever our circumstances may be, we can bring these to our Heavenly Father in prayer. We have a refuge. We can trust that He will, just at the time when we need it most, give us the strength to face whatever challenges beset us. And we should not be reticent in asking our Christian friends and colleagues for their prayer and support.

Prayer Points:

1. Heavenly Father, give me confidence that I can face the uncertainties and crises of life in your strength.

2. May I be a friend to those who need my prayer and help in testing times.
