And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
When the Jewish leaders arrested Jesus, they charged him with offences which, according to Jewish law, merited the death penalty. Nevertheless, they had to convince the Roman authorities to impose that sentence, and that meant taking him before the GPlease sign in for access
