Do you consider yourself beautiful?

News is constantly being made as law is enacted, advice is given and judgments handed out. It represents good news, peace and happiness for some, and very bad news, including loss and incarceration for others. As lawyers we are often the voice bringing that news.
The prophet Isaiah, in the midst of the pain of exile, spoke of a time when the coming news would be so good that those who heard it would be set free to rejoice and sing. God's salvation, by His sovereign rule and reign, would not be held back. He would bring restoration.
Isaiah's words are a precursor to Chapter 53, where we are introduced to the servant who, by his sacrifice, grace and mercy, brings salvation to all who believe it as true. This suffering servant will one day return in redemptive power and glory. This news - good news of peace and joy - needs to be told.
As a Fellowship our challenge is to speak about Jesus Christ and live out the gospel in our profession. Are we prepared then to speak up and be heralds of this good news with the extraordinary thought that there is something beautiful about us as we do so?
- Ask God for boldness to speak up and bring the message of Good News to your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues.
- Give thanks for your freedom to speak about your faith and trust in Jesus. Pray for those who do not enjoy such freedom in our world today.
