Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

Another year ends. An unexpectedly difficult year, but still it ends.
Psalm 90 shows the sharp contrast between the Lord of Eternity (v2: "from everlasting to everlasting you are God") and mortal man (v10: "our days ... quickly pass and we fly away"
