Who are you going to call?
Week beginning: 12th March, 2017 | By Michael Hawthorne | Broadstairs, Kent
"[And] let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds…"Hebrews 10:24 (NIV)
Christians are meant to live in company with others not alone. We need fellowship with other Christians to encourage us and to enable us to grow in our faith, and we need to be alert to opportunities to spur others on in their walk with the Lord.
Time is precious and we have to prioritise but fellowship is too important and necessary to be side-lined. Is our church attendance suffering? Are we making an effort to get to LCF events or local group meetings?
In the very next verse, Hebrews 10:25 the writer challenges "…not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another..."
1. For the spirit of discipline as we follow our Lord.
2. For opportunities to encourage and spur on another believers.
3. That we may seek to do good as we have opportunity.
4. Is there a call we need to make or a letter to write to thank someone for the help we have received recently?
