"I trust in the LORD. I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul."Psalm 31:6b-7 (NIV)
We live in a culture addicted to comfort, which advertises that suffering is abnormal and inconvenience can be short-circuited through the use of the latest gadgets. It can therefore be a shock to us when life is hard, when we have to live with long-term problems, or when disappointments occur.
The Psalmist reminds us that affliction and anguish are to be expected. God does not promise to spare us from the ordinary hardships of life not even the aggravations and stresses which come with being a lawyer. But God's love is constant and God is faithful. We can rely on God to walk with us through the tough times in life and we can thank Him that His love never fails.
- Thank God for His unchanging love and pray for it to be a reality and encouragement to us this week.
- Pray for the final preparations for the upcoming regional conferences.
