"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness."2 Peter 1:3 (NIV 2010)
At the start of a new year it is easy to feel daunted by what lies ahead. We see the coming year with its challenges and opportunities stretching out before us, and may wonder how we will find the strength to meet them.
Here God's word reassures us that he has given us everything we need in order to live as he wants us to, and to do the things that he has called us to do. Our relationship with him is completely sufficient to equip us for a life of discipleship.
How can we be sure of this? Because in his goodness and power he has already called us to himself and enabled us to start on the journey of faith. As we walk with him, we can be confident that he will continue to sustain us.
1. Give thanks to God that he is powerful and good, and is all-sufficient for our needs.
2. Pray that you - along with all of us in the LCF - would walk into 2018 in dependence on God, and would desire to know him better and trust him more, rather than relying on our own strength.
