His way or yours?

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
As lawyers we are trained to apply our hard-won knowledge in the service of our clients. There is always the temptation to rely on our own ability and resources. These verses remind us that there is One who knows us better than ourselves and that it is to Him we must look for true wisdom and understanding.
I am sure that in our hearts we know and believe this but do we actually practise it day by day? Why not make this a prayer before starting your day and look to the Lord to guide you both in work and leisure. Commit to Him those worrying problems you have been given to solve. Let Him show you the path to follow in solving them. May this promise from God take the stress from our busy lives.
1. Ask God to enable you to lay before Him the challenges you expect to face today.
2. Commit your clients to God both before and after meeting them.
3. Endeavour to make these verses true for yourself.
4. Ask God to take your intellect and guide you through the tasks of today.
